Abstract:

The Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition is a bike advocacy group in the Capital Region, British Columbia, Canada. In recent years municipalities and other levels of government have been building new bikeways. The GVCC advocates to governments on not only the larger picture of which corridors are chosen, but also on the design of those corridors - both of which draw from safety research The GVCC works with those governments and the wider public to encourage more bikeways to be built and to ensure that those being built follow best practices when it comes to safety. Government officials, politicians and the wider public Encourage members of the public the support new bikeways.

Working with government officials, engineers and planners to ensure the planned bikeways meet Canadian and International best practices in both location and design.
