Parachute will be holding their ninth annual National Teen Driver Safety Week (NTDSW) from October 17 to 23, 2021. NTDSW builds awareness of teen driver safety issues and encourages community and youth involvement as part of the solution. Keeping the momentum going from  Parachute 's 2020 campaign, the primary focus will again be on the critical issue of speeding among teens, with additional messaging around drug-impaired, drunk, distracted and aggressive driving, and rail safety. Similar to NTDSW 2020, due to physical distancing restrictions and limits on in-person gatherings,  Parachute will once again hold a virtual campaign.  Parachute encourage teens, parents and community partners to join the conversation on social media, using the hashtags #SpeedIsNoGame and #NTDSW2021.

Parachute is thrilled that Canadian Formula 1 driver, Nicholas Latifi, is joining their campaign again as volunteer ambassador for our #SpeedIsNoGame messaging.  Parachute is developing a social campaign along with roadside billboards featuring Nicholas. As well, world-champion snowboarder and Olympic silver medalist Laurie Blouin will be producing and sharing videos for  Parachute 's  #SpeedIsNoGame campaign with her social media followers, and supporting  Parachute 's work as a bilingual spokesperson for road and rail safety.

Parachute is also developing online resources, to be available on our website, providing facts and figures about the key issues and a social media guide to help promote and amplify NTDSW. To learn more, please visit parachute.ca/ntdsw. If you have an email listserv or newsletter and would like to share and promote NTDSW with your network, please connect with  Parachute. If you have any ideas on how to become more involved or have an opportunity for a local in-person event,  Parachute is excited to learn more and discuss how they can support you. And a thank you to  Parachute 's sponsors Desjardins and CN for supporting our campaign.

In addition, if you are interested in working with municipal or provincial government to coordinate a proclamation for NTDSW, please let  Parachute know.

Parachute hopes you can join them in promoting and participating in the campaign this year. Please contact info@parachutecanada.org if you have any questions or would like to learn more.
