One of Parachute’s most recent Vision Zero initiatives is Canada’s Safest Driver contest. The purpose of this contest is to promote safe driving; improve road safety; provide insight into how telematics can improve driver safety; and increase awareness of and participation in Parachute Vision Zero initiatives. The contest is skills-based and measures the driving habits of entrants through the Canada’s Safest Driver telematics app developed for the contest by Cambridge Mobile Telematics, Inc. Dates for the contest are to be determined.

Award structure - $10,000 for Grand prize winner; $5000 for 2nd place, $2000 for 3rd place. There will also be four (4) periodic prizes of $500 for: highest score during pre-grand prize race period; avoiding phone distractions; complying with posted speed limits and Smooth braking performance. The Grand Prize winner will be the contestant with the highest overall score during the 8-week grand prize contest period.

Parachute is asking CARSP members and others to help promote the contest through your own communication channels and networks. We will be providing a social media guide closer to the launch of the contest for partners to use. There is also an opportunity for you to personally participate in the contest and challenge other colleagues in a friendly competition.
