CARSP/PRI 2020 Free Webinar Series Announced

CARSP/PRI in partnership with TIRF and platinum sponsor, Desjardins, are pleased to announce a special webinar series in advance of the 2021 conference.

This six-part webinar series is scheduled for June, July, September and October 2020; one webinar consists of three presentations each. Webinars are organized under six categories: Traffic Engineering; Alcohol and Drug-Impaired Driving; VRU Safety; Advanced Vehicle Design, Autonomous and Connected Vehicles; Road Safety Plans and Creating a Traffic Safety Culture; and, Driver Education.

Registration for the June Traffic Engineering webinar is now OPEN! All webinars are presented in English unless otherwise noted and are free of charge, however online registration is limited. Please register early to ensure a spot. If unable to attend, please cancel your registration to allow others to register.

  1. An Innovative Approach to Assessing the Relative Risk at Rural Curved-Tangential Intersections
    Alex Nolet – Alexandre is a Transportation Safety Engineer and Vice-Present of True North Safety Group. He has over twelve years of experience in the transportation consulting industry where his focus has been on road safety, collision analysis, traffic operations, and risk management. Alexandre has been involved in several road safety audits and in-service road safety reviews for various road jurisdictions throughout Canada. He is currently the president of CARSP.
  2. Measuring Road Safety Improvements Using Video-Based Conflict Analysis in Prince George, BC
    Paul St-Aubin – Dr. St-Aubin is senior product manager for Transoft Solutions (ITS) and a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo. He has over a decade of experience practicing road safety consulting and has been at the forefront of research and development of proactive road safety monitoring and diagnostics, and collision modeling and prediction technologies. His areas of expertise lie in safe road design, collision-course modelling, driver behaviour, traffic data collection technologies, computer vision, and ITS architecture.
  3. Applying Human Factors Principles to Rural Intersection Safety
    Raheem Dilgir – Raheem Dilgir is a Road Safety Professional with 24 years of experience in Canada, the United States and abroad. He was previously the Vice President and road safety practice lead of Opus International Consultants in Alberta, and more recently served as the Manager of Transportation at The Corporation of Delta in British Columbia. Raheem has been instrumental in the development of road safety engineering guidance for the Transportation Association of Canada and other leading organizations in Canada.
