What is CARSP?

CARSP is the only national organization with the exclusive mandate to improve the safety of all road users in Canada.

CARSP is a diverse group of professionals involved in the research, management, and delivery of road safety programmes in Canada.

The association was formed in 1985 in order to:

  • encourage the sharing of professional experience
  • facilitate communication and cooperation among road safety groups and agencies
  • promote research and professional development
  • provide an influential voice for road safety professionals with which to communicate knowledge-based opinions to policy-makers

Resources and Events

The Safety Network Our web site (http://www.carsp.ca) provides the latest safety news, information on upcoming conferences, ways to contact CARSP members to share knowledge, and links to other safety resources.

The Safety Network is published quarterly and is sent to CARSP members. The newsletter features articles on road and motor vehicle safety issues, CARSP news and conference information.

The Canadian Traffic Safety Digest is a monthly summary of safety headlines from across the country, freely available by subscription on our website.

CARSP is pleased to be associated as host/sponsor of the Canadian Multidisciplinary Road Safety Conference (CMRSC). As Canada's premier traffic safety conference, CMRSC attracts researchers and practitioners from across the country - and around the world - to share their knowledge and expertise at the cutting edge of safety technology and practices. Dr. Charles H. Miller Award

The Dr. Charles H. Miller Award is presented to the author(s) of the best technical paper at the Canadian Multidisciplinary Road Safety Conference. The award recognizes well-founded research, valuable results and conclusions; disseminates traffic safety information; and provides an incentive to authors to submit quality papers to the CMRSC.

CARSP also sponsors student competitions for elementary, highschool, and post-secondary school students.

Dr. Charles H. Miller Award
